Grant user permissions to access PostgreSQL database

After a PostgreSQL database user is created, the newly created database user is not yet able to establish connection to the PostgreSQL database server, you still need to manually grant access permission for the database user to the PostgreSQL database you want this user to have access to. For details on how to create a PostgreSQL datgabase user, please refer to Creating PostgreSQL database user.

To grant user permissions to access PostgreSQL database:

  1. Click PostgreSQL databases button shown in website hosting account control panel page.

  2. Select the desired user name from the User drop down list and the PostgreSQL database that you are granting access to from the Db drop down list.

  3. Click Add User to Db and the access permission is granted, an example of connection using several popular programming languages is shown after the user is successfully granted access to the database.
