Removing Anonymous FTP access

Removing Anonymous FTP access is a simple and easy process. Please take note that removing Anonymous FTP access does not delete the public_ftp folder (you should not delete this folder, it is a system folder for your hosting account to function properly) and the files stored in it, but diable the 'guest' login from accessing the public_ftp folder.

To remove Anonymous FTP access:

  1. Click Ftp Manager button in your Cpanel hosting account control panel.

  2. Click Anonymous FTP Controls option.

  3. Uncheck the tick from the Allow anonymous access to ftp://ftp.yourdomain.com tick box or the Allow anonymous upload to ftp://ftp.yourdomain.com/incoming tick boxes.

  4. Click Save Settings button and the Anonymous access is then disabled.
