You can check current owner information of a particular domain name by performing a WHOIS query check, and this option is available in all domain registration website. In the domain name WHOIS record, you will see the contact name, address and email of the current registered owner, billing and technical contact. When a domain name expire and a new owner has picked up the domain name, WHOIS record for the domain name will be overridden with the latest owner information, there is no way to trace back the previous owner information of a particular domain name.
Protect WHOIS info
You may have seen WHOIS contact info for some domain name being hidden, this is actually an addon service by domain registrars to offer 'privacy' option to the domain owner, public will only see a generic dummy contact info instead of the actual domain contact info when querying the domain WHOIS record.
