PostNuke is a branch out project from the popular phpNuke CMS when phpNuke decided to move into commercial licensing in the early years of CMS development, PostNuke has adopted most of the frame work and continue offering it as an open source modular CMS, PostNuke has a good supporting community and is popular among younger webmasters due to the easy to install core and addon modules, especially within the online game community.
PostNuke core is a basic CMS with all the needed function to create articles and a back end administration screen, there are lots of addons, plugins and blocks that can be use to extend the functionality of the site, for example, you can add a forum, an ecommerce store etc. note that some of the addons are commercial license but mostly are open source.
